Transparency in Coverage

The Transparency in Coverage final rules released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Labor, and the Department of the Treasury seek to put healthcare price information in the hands of consumers and other stakeholders so they are empowered with the critical information needed to make informed healthcare decisions.

As of July 1, 2022, the final rules require plans and issuers to disclose information such as in-network provider negotiated rates and historical out-of-network allowed amounts through machine-readable files posted on an internet website.
