Director of Manufacturing - Start 7/25/24; Close 8/12/24

ATCO Rubber Products, Inc. is currently looking for a Director of Manufacturing in Fort Worth, Texas as follows.

Position will direct the production operations of five manufacturing plants across the country producing flexible duct inner core and outer vapor barriers, as-well-as aluminum ducts. The manufacturing processes include film and reinforcement slitting, adhesive production, carton production, high-speed coating and laminating production processes, and steel wire manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing department, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align manufacturing activities with sales forecasts, demand planning, and budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable certifications, regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems.

Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience with large-scale manufacturing operations, including manufacturing equipment, processes, technologies, and best practices.  Experience may have been obtained concurrently and must include:

  1. Three (3) years of experience with implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives;
  2. Three (3) years of experience with core, jacket, adhesive, carton, wire, and duct manufacturing equipment, processes, products, and technologies;
  3. Two (2) years of experience in the design and build of flexible duct production equipment; and
  4. One (1) year of experience with managing implementation of a Maintenance Repair and Operations within a large-scale manufacturing operation across multiple plant locations.
